Playing mp3 files in a box folder on a phone

This may reveal my ignorance about smart phones - but I have the same issue with both Android and Apple, so perhaps it's something deeper...

I put several mp3 files into a box folder.  I then access these through the box app on a phone. If I play one, the phone doesn't stop at the end, but goes on to play the next mp3 in the folder. This is not what I want.  What can I do to prevent it, without putting each mp3 in its own separate folder? I can't find any setting to adjust.

Hi Ian,

Welcome to Box Community!

I went ahead and reproduced this issue, seems that it is an expected behavior that even if you only selected a single mp3 file to play in your folder it will continue to play the next mp3 file once the previous once stops.

Please don't hesitate to leave comments if you have questions.

Thank you for checking this out. If indeed it is a feature, rather than a bug, may I suggest a new feature the next time that the phone apps are updated?

This would be access to a menu for the folder specifying what action is required at the end of playing any audio file in the folder:
- play next audio file (this would be the default option, for backwards compatibility)
- repeat this file
- stop

I think other users would find this helpful too.

Hi,

I concur.  The current feature makes assumptions that are indesirable.

I began to suggest my customers to use the apps to listen recording I provide to them.  Now, I have to tell them not to use it anymore.  We are back to links from which they download.

So, less traffic to the apps and exposure to Box other services ...

I have checked quickly and have not found it on Pulse Box.  Does anyone saw it ?

Thanks & Regards

Thanks for your support.

I have tried to post this on pulse but was told that I should log in - even though I was logged in.

Very happy to see somebody else post it there!
