Multiple red dots have appeared next to files in our folder tree. I see these in Windows Explorer as I am using Box Drive. Clicking on the gear icon under the Box Drive icon in the system tray does not reveal any issues. Please assist.

No, it does not look like any of the icons illustrated in that article. The icons that I see are red dots with nothing inside (i.e., there is no white exclamation point).
And the article you reference here is not helpful, as I do not see any files listed in the problem file notifications area after clicking on the Box icon and Gear icon in my system tray.
