Persistent storage limit error message despite deleted files

After getting storage limit error messages, I deletes a ton of files and restarted Box and the computer but the error messages still appear and I cannot save new files. This is severely impeding my work process.

According to the posts I’ve been able to find, this seems like a problem Box has not been able to address. Does anyone have any clue how to fix this problem? Or how to get the attention of someone at Box to to address this very important problem?

Thanks,

Laviesibelle

Hello,

My Box Individual Free account incorrectly shows 10.0 GB of 10.0 GB used.

However, the actual size of my Box Sync folder is only 4.76 GB (290 files in 2 folders).

Yesterday I deleted a large number of files and also completely emptied the Bin/Trash. More than 24 hours have passed, but my Account Settings still show:

Storage used: 10.0 GB of 10.0 GB

I have checked my files and folders, and the reported storage usage appears to be incorrect.

Could you please run the storage recalculation script for my account to correct the storage usage count?

I need to continue uploading and synchronizing files, but the incorrect 10 GB storage count prevents me from doing so.

Thank you very much for your help.

Hi @Csaba,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

Please note that when you delete folders, the storage space may not immediately update because Box excludes Trash from storage calculations and updates aggregates within an hour or up to 24 hours for complex cases. In rare cases, it might take a few days to a week for the storage usage to reflect correctly. Your files remain safe, and this is a display update issue.  You may check this link for more information: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043695334-Storage-Usage-Or-File-Count-In-My-Account-Is-Incorrect
