Online folders not syncing with local folders

I help manage our team's Box account and we have several team members who use Box via the online webapp while others use Box via their local folders. 

We've had issues where the team members using their local folder will move, edit, or delete a file/folder, but this does not get reflected in the online version. We tested this today when a team member deleted an old version of a file, but I was still able to view the file in the online version.

Very frustrating and we'd like to understand how to fix the issue.

Please have the user so through these steps to further troubleshoot the issue.
  • quit and restart sync
  • log out and back in
  • unmark/remark folders
  • retry all' on error pop up
  • uninstall/reinstall potentially

Does everyone have their Box Sync updated to the latest version?
