Is there a setting that can allow me to receive a notification when a file I have ownership of is previewed or downloaded?

Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!

To get notified when someone previews or downloads your file, here's what you can do:

  • Login to the Box website and hover to the folder.

  • Select the three dots and click Settings.

  • Scroll down to Email and Notifications Settings.

  • Click the radio button, Override default settings for this folder and all subfolders - To set custom notification preferences for the folder.

  • Lastly, you may select the notifications that you aim to receive and save changes.

                    Previews
                    Downloads
                    Uploads
                    Deletes (selected by default)
Adds a comment (selected by default)

Hope it helps!

My question is when I send document signature request through box sign, can I get a notification when the intended signer opens and previews the document? Right now I only get a notification when they sign. Also, parallel to this, if I add other people to "receive a copy" who are not singers, can those people get the document as soon as it is sent? Right now what's happening is that they only get a copy after it is already signed. THANK YOU

Was there any update here? I’m also interested in those features being added to Box Sign (getting an email notification when the signer views the document, cc recipients receiving a copy as soon as the document is sent). Our company was using DocuSign and would like to switch over fully to Box Sign, but not having those features has been a pain.
