I uploaded documents in the shared folder that I was invited to join. Does the recipient automatically received an email once I have uploaded documents? How do I know the email has been sent?

It usually depends how the owner of the folder set up the notification. There's no way for you to check if they're notified. You may check this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196513-Manage-Account-Settings#emailnotifications
