I signed up for Box via an institutional account. When I graduated, I still maintained the same email but am unsure if it is still technically an institutional account as I do not have the high caps associated with the institutional account. I am now being told that I will lose access to my institutional email. I changed the login email to my personal. Can someone check if my account would be deleted or if it's technically a personal account?

Thanks so much,

Andrew

If you originally signed up for Box using an institutional account and have since changed your login email to a personal one, your account should no longer be tied to the institutional email or its specific privileges. However, if you’re being told you’ll lose access to your institutional email, it's important to verify with Box support whether your account has been fully transitioned to a personal account.

I signed up for Box through an institutional account linked to my school email. After graduation, I kept the same email but am unsure if it’s still considered an institutional account, especially since I no longer have the associated high caps.

It sounds like your account might still be linked to the institutional email even after you've changed the login to your personal email. Box typically transitions accounts to personal ones once the associated institution no longer provides acces

If your institutional email is no longer active, and you've updated your login details, your account should remain active under your personal email.
