There's no ability to tag/mention people in Office apps comments with the @ symbol, rendering them basically useless. Very disappointing such a critical feature is simply non existent, especially touting all the co-authoring features during the sales pitch. This will make box adoption much harder, people will keep using sharepoint... Are there plans to address this?

Hi Dana,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!

Thanks for your feedback regarding this feature and I'm afraid this is a current limitation in Box for Office.

For any product feature request or suggestions, we recommend you post your idea on pulse.box.com for more visibility. Our product team reviews all submissions and will consider whether to include feedback in their product roadmap.

Thanks for posting!

We are also looking for this functionality and found this article.  It is about 8 months old, so I wanted to follow up and ask if there had been any progress on this effort?  We can only use office comments with @mentions by using the desktop office or office365 office products while editing locally saved files.  Just FYI, we have seen the comment and @mention functionality in the Box preview window but those don’t show up in the document editor.

Thank you
