Hello,

I recently got a Business Subscription to Box and I am trying to create a custom URL public link for some documents. When I got to the Shared Link Settings on the specific document, I saw the Non-private custom URL option, which is grayed out for me.

Can you please help me resolve this issue?

Hi Georgi,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

Make sure you have enabled this functionality through 'Admin Console> Enterprise Settings> Content & Sharing.'

  • Select the check box to enable the custom URL feature for open public sharing.

Important

If the shared link is available with People with the link scope, then the linked folder or file is publicly accessible. Custom URL is appropriate for public-facing materials such as product documentation or marketing materials, and is not intended for the secure sharing of sensitive content.
