Need to update email address on account

Hello!

 

I need to update the email address on my free account, but the email address I want to chage it to is already in use. How do I merge everything from the the email address no longer in use to the correct one?

    Hi there,

    Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

    When changing your primary email address, you can only link it to an email that's not yet associated with Box.

    Additionally, we cannot merge (2) email accounts on Box and your only workaround is to update your primary email address.

    just so I understand correctly, you are saying I need to update my primary email address but I cannot do that because the one I need to update it to is already in use?
