I'm trying to change the default directory that box uses on my mac. This instructions don't work: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/1500000140101-Box-Folder-on-Mac-Desktop

Any ideas what will work? I'm running Ventura and the most current version of box drive.

Hi Jim,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

To configure your Box Drive folder's default location, here's the steps.

Note: This article discusses resolving issues around file-to-file linking via absolute paths as seen in many popular apps such as Excel, Word, InDesign, and so on. Meanwhile, customizing the Box Drive folder does not change where Box Drive stores its app data or cached files. So customizing the folder will not save disk space if you relocate the folder to another drive.

Hope it helps!

These steps didn't work for me either. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app and the instructions still did not work. Please help.

I have a MacMini M1 with only 256GB Harddrive and an external 1TB Drive. I want the Box Sync Folder Stored on the external Drive.

How can I move the Box Sync Folder to an external drive?

following the links above it says "Box Drive Custom Mount Location" is not available on the new box software ... so it will not work?

Hi, I perplexed as to why its is so hard to find relevant support articles. I am running Box on a Mac. I want to download all data locally on my office Mac but internal HDD is too small. I want to move the storage data location to the External. The only instructions I can find are for Windows. Is this supported and if so, please provide a relevant link to the instructions

Hi, The post is asking for instruction on how to do it on a Mac but you sent link to page saying for Windows only?
