Question

Missing folders

I’ve logged on today to the Box and my master folders containing hundreds of gigabytes worth of video content are missing. The file pathways are still there on my desktop version of the Box but when I right click view on Box.com it says “Oops! We can't seem to find the page you're looking for.”

I can’t check file history as the master folder itself has been deleted and I can’t find any of the folders in the bin. Could you please let me know how I can resolve this?

Hi @Rinse Content

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to help in finding your missing folders!

Currently, there’s a folder in trash that was deleted couple days back. Is there any chance that’s the folder you’re looking for?

If so, please go back to trash and use these suggested search and filters:

To search through your Trash folder:

  1. Navigate to your Trash folder.
  2. Toward the top, click the Search Files and Folders
  3. In the box that displays, enter any search parameters.
  4. Check Only search inside of “Trash.”
  5. Press Enter.

To sort and filter all items within the trash folder:

You can filter content by items you own, or by items you’ve deleted.  To do this, directly beneath the folder label (Trash), click the Items I Own (or Items I Deleted) down arrow.  Then click the option you want.

  • The Items I deleted filter displays all items you have deleted, regardless of who created or owns the item.
  • The Items I own filter displays all deleted items you own, regardless of who deleted the item.

Tip

Filtering by Items I Own is helpful when trying to track down content that may have been deleted by a collaborator in a folder you own.

To restore specific items in Trash:

The steps below apply whether you’re selecting from search results or from all Trash items.

  1. Hover to highlight the row of the item you want. The More Options ellipsis () displays.
  2. Click the ellipsis (...).  Then:
    • To return the item to its original location in Box, click Restore.
  3. At the prompt, click Okay.

If still have trouble in finding the missing folder, please reach out to the Box Product Support team and create a case use this support link.

Hope it helps!
