Welcome to Box Community, and we’ll help find your missing folder.
Is the folder we’re looking for your own or collaborated folder? If it’s the latter, you could reach out to the folder owner and let the owner recover your missing folder from the trash.
Notes:
- When items are deleted from a collaboration folder, both the owner and the person who deleted the item can recover the items from the Trash.
- If you are removed as a collaborator from a file or folder that you've deleted, you no longer see that item in Trash. To see the item in Trash, you must be again added as a collaborator to that item.
In addition to this, you could also run a User Activity Report in order to locate the missing folder.
To run the report:
- Log in to Box.com and navigate to Admin Console> Reports> Create report.
- Select User Activity and set the date range for this report.
- Next, under Action Types click File Management and set the filters: moved to trash, renamed and moved.
- Lastly, click run to create a csv file for this report.

I’m not an admin, so it looks like the admin of my group needs to run the report, correct?

Since you can’t run this report yourself. Please reach out to your Primary Administrator to get this User Activity report for you. Doing so will get you the information you need regarding your missing folder.
