I have noticed that sometimes when users are previewing excel files or pptx files on box.com, the box geographical report will stamp the file as also being downloaded on a Microsoft datacenter outside the US. The explanation I received is that its the Microsoft previewer integration with box that is handling documents this way. The problem is that even if its the Microsoft integration that's causing trouble, this still is taking data outside of the US. I'm guessing this is the case for everybody else and if the data is supposed to reside in the US then this is violating the data residency.
