We are accessing the box to collaborate on an excel file.  The only option we have to open and edit the file is a 'Open' the file - we get this option:

When we open in this manner - we can edit and save but a new file gets saved into the box.  My co-workers have the option to open with Microsoft Excel Online but I don't see it.  However, I do remember a time that I had that option.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Ciaran,

Welcome to the Box Community!

Can you double check with your Box Admin if Box for Office online is disabled in the admin console?

To find the integration settings:

  1. Open the admin console.
  2. In the admin console's left sidebar, click Apps.
  3. In the top of the window, click Box Apps & Integrations.
  4. Navigate to the Individual Application Controls section.
  5. Hover on Box for Office to highlight it, and then click Configure.

More details can be found about this integration in this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196433-Box-for-Office-Integrations#bfo_officeonline

Best,
