Hi there,

Is there any way that I can make a file editable by many people without adding them as collaborators?

I train large groups of people in my organization and often need them to add their details to various lists. At the moment, the process is painful and it would be great to have a button to make a file 'public' and have anyone with the link be able to edit it.

Hi Bonny,

Welcome to the Box Community!

The only way to allow others to edit a content that you own within Box is thru "Collaboration". Using collaboration, you will be able to grant others an "Editor" permission to edit files that you own.

An "Editor" is just one of the many permission levels you can grant to other people you will be working with, to see the list and their definition, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044196413-Understanding-Collaborator-Permission-Levels

For more information about Collaborations, please check out this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043696854-Inviting-Collaborators

Thanks for visiting the forum and let us know how else we can help!
