    Hi Erik,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

We understand that installing the beta requires many steps and if you do not feel comfortable following the installation instructions, we would recommend waiting for the general release and continuing to use our WebApp (Box.com) in the meantime.

The current version of Box Drive is built with kernel extensions. In order to use kernel extensions on M1 devices, users need to enable Reduced Security mode so that kernel extensions can be enabled.  Later this year, we will release a version of Box Drive that is built without kernel extensions, so this will no longer be required in the near future.

Thanks for understanding and your participation in the community!

    Best,
