Lost Files

To whom it may concern: 

Hi my name is Jen Marino and I am the lab coordinator for a child development lab on Northwestern University's campus.  As a University we have migrated from BOX to Sharepoint.  During this migration some of our files have been lost.  I am contacting you directly because our IT department here at NU has not been able to find the files.  

 Our lab's Box account was using our lab Gmail account, and the log in process was not actually through NU Box, but through the regular Box website (app.box.com). That account has been wiped (from what I can see), apart from 3 files. We have come to the conclusion that the files are not in the NU version of Box.

If the files were initially successfully migrated to Sharepoint, and accidentally deleted for some reason, is it possible to search for these files there as well?

    Hi there,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

    I would suggest to directly communicate with the owner of the file to see if the file is still active on their end. You may also advised them to check the if the shared link is expired.

    Hello Aira,

    We are the owner of the file. The files were all uploaded directly to our Box account (pocdnu@gmail.com). But after the migration, they disappeared. Northwestern IT has done an extensive search and says the files are no where in their migration tool or the northwestern 'environment'. No one deleted the files, we even checked our trash can and there's nothing there. Is there a way you can look back into your archives because years and years of data have been lost.
