Linking various Microsoft products to my established BOX document repository

I have established a BOX document repository for my team's documents.

a.  I created a map/index via VISIO of the established folder structure within the repository, and it does not sync well in BOX.  The VISIO copy is challenging to download, and the PDF copy appears to be blurry.  Is there a work around or a way to improve the functionality?  My IT is suggesting Miro?  I had wanted to use BOX Canvas, but my IT will not turn on the admin rights to this tool or set up a pilot for my team to try at this point and time.

b.  How do you link BOX to a share point page/team site?  How would I link an intranet page for my team, to documents that were located in BOX how would I do this?

c.  Can I set up Docu Sign in Box Relay in order to set up an automated work stream to send fully executed documents from  Docu Sign into a BOX document folder that resides in my document repository, and how do I set this up? How would I set up a work stream for document review without Docu Sign?

d. I often have difficulty with redlines and turning them into PDFs with Adobe Pro when the document resides in BOX.  The redlines do not always appear, or the formatting appears off when I finalize the document.  What task am I performing incorrectly?  Please confirm.

e.  What does obtaining a BOX certification do for me?  Does give me more credibility with my IT team as a user?

Thank you!

Hi Lesley - a few thoughts on this having previously experienced some of these issue.

a - Visio is not a supported Office sync app (only Word, Excel, Ppoint) - so when you edit or modify a Visio file it's the same as updating any other RAW non-Office file.  It has to upload the entire file upon close/save and sync.  Additionally, and I am not sure why this is, it takes longer to re-render a Visio diagram via the web Box environment (like when Box has to process a larger movie file it is not always immediately available after syncing) - so it is always recommended to only open raw files from within the Box Drive local environment.  Miro (and Lucidchart et al) are just cloud-based Visio replacements (we actually use Lucidchart here) and work great for bi-directional vsd saving if needed.  Seems odd that they wouldn't enable Box Canvas though...its harmless.

b - Every object in Box has an immutable link (the one in the address bar of your browser) and a shared link option.  If you select a Box file you will be able to grab the shared link (click on the paperclip icon) and then can share that link per the appropriate permissions.  You can also just copy the immutable link and share it but if people don't have access it won't work.  Same principle applies to files in Box Drive on your PC, you can right click them and grab the shared link from that menu.

c - Box Relay does not work with external 3rd party apps BUT you can have Box react to new files which appear in a Box folder (e.g., a signed Docusign document).  So if you use DocuSign to sign a document, say, and then use Zapier or manual handiwork to save that document into a Box Drive folder, Box Relay can detect this and then perform additional functions (move it, share it, add metadata to it, etc.).   There are nice templates in Box Relay which demonstrate how to use document review workstreams - have you checked those out?

d - Have you linked Adobe Acrobat to Box Storage?  It is a relatively new function that Adobe introduced which should help to eliminate this issue.

e - Depends on your company.  Does your IT team regard certifications as a badge of merit or the actual experience which comes behind the badge?
