Link password sharing issues

Hi,

We have been using Box Enterprise’s password-protected link sharing feature for many years now without any problem.

In the last few weeks though, we’ve been running into problems where the password set doesn’t work later on when shared with clients.

Has anything changed recently with this feature that could be causing issues? E.g. new security requirements or settings that could be disrupting our workflow?

We’ve listed down the preliminary troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue: 

  • Please ensure they’re using only the correct password for the password-protected shared link. 
  • Can you test it on a different browser, network and/or machine? 
  • Make sure that the browser used is in the latest version
  • Clearing your browser's cache

Meanwhile, if the issue persist we have a few questions regarding this issue: 

  • Is this affecting all the password-protected shared links? 
  • Does the person who setup the password able to access the shared link with the password he/she created? 
  • By any chance, is there an error message? If yes, please attach the screenshot in this thread.
