When planning within the organization, we use Microsoft project 2016. This type of document does not support simultaneous working. If multiple people open such a document at the same time, box will create a copy of the file. This is not the intention.

Is it possible for box to limit the use of such a document to one person at a time?
For example, to give a notification when the document is already open elsewhere, or to limit it to 1 user at a time by closing/ locking the document at that moment?

Kind regards,
Yoeri

Hi Yoeri,

Welcome to the Box Community,I'm happy to help!

We have some recommendations that might help achieve your goal to limit to only one person at a time when working on a document in Box.

You may use Box's "Lock and Unlock" feature. To learn more about this feature, please take a look at this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043697174-Locking-Unlocking-Files

We've also enhanced this feature for Box Drive application. To learn more and to enable this feature for your account, please check out this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360061782454-Enabling-Enhanced-Lock-Unlock-on-Box-Drive

Thanks for reaching out and please let us know if you have any questions!
