I have been added to a box.com team account to share records on legal matters. Up until recently, it worked fine. Until last week when I am unable to open documents on box.com and edit them as Word Documents online. I do have the Microsoft Word online integration added but otherwise it only lets me edit a word document through Google docs which requires me to download the document to my Google Drive account and not to the box.com team account. Please advise.

Please see if you can customize which integrated application will open by default for various file types with the 'Open' button on the file preview page.

Here’s what you can do: 

  • Please navigate to Box.com>At the top right corner, click your profile and select Account Settings> click Integrations tab. 
  • From Integrations, scroll down to Default Integrated Applications.
  • In your preferred file type, click Microsoft Office Online then save to capture the changes. 

Refresh your browser then try again.
