Is Box recommended for very large file storage? (Video files, 100s of gigabytes)

Greetings,

Just want to ask if Box is a recommended product if I'm trying to store multiple very large files, such as Video Files, which may have file sizes in the 100s of Gigabytes range?  (meaning, we have multiple files, each is 100s of Gigabytes)

The number of people accessing these large files won't be very large.  But they will need to be able to upload/download these files.

Also: is there any difference between the paid Box subscription plans in what I'm trying to do?

We already have an Enterprise plan.  Should we consider migrating our databases to the Box cloud?  Or is this not recommended.

Thanks a bunch,

John Wang

After lots of googling, I found this:

File Size Limitations depending on your account type:
  1. Free personal: 250 MB.
  2. Starter: 2 GB.
  3. Business/Enterprise: 5 GB.
  4. Digital Workplace Suite: 5 GB.
  5. Digital Workplace Global Suite: 5 GB.
  6. Digital Business Suite: 32 GB.
So I guess the answer may be no then.

So I want to ask: is this set in stone, or are there tools or apps available to download, that can work around these filesize limitaions?

Thanks,

For files of that size it's recommended to use Box FTP Server.
