Installation of Box Drive fails on MacOS Sequoia

Whenever I try to install Box Drive on my M1 Mac (OS 15.7.4), I get a message “The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail.  Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.”

I do have Box Sync installed and contrary to the documentation, the Box Drive installer did not prompt about uninstalling Box Sync.

Hi @mnodine

Welcome to Box Community, and thank you for bringing this into our attention. We’d love to help!

Is it your first attempt to install Box Drive in this machine? If yes, could you reinstall it one more time?

Please keep in mind the Box Drive’s prerequisites before installing:

Recommended minimum system specifications:

  • 1.6GHz dual core processor
  • 4GB of RAM

Note
If your machine does not meet the recommended system specifications, you may still be able to install and run Box Drive. However, you may encounter a degraded experience.

To get the Box Drive’s latest version, please use the Box Drive installer here

Hope it helps! Let us know in the Community if you have additional questions.
