Good morning,

I am trying to ensure that I end all collaborations with a colleague who recently left our institution - is there any way to end all collaborations with a specific user?  Or identify all of the folders they collaborated on?

Thank you!

Hi Nadia,

Welcome to Box Community!

If you are an editor, owner, or co-owner in a folder, you can remove collaborators from the folder.

To remove a collaborator from a folder:

  • Open the appropriate folder.

  • You will see a list of collaborators in the right-hand sidebar.

  • Click a collaborator's name to to view all the collaborators in this folder.

  • Find the collaborator whose access level you would like to modify. You can search by name using the Filter Collaborators search box in the upper right.

  • Under the Permissions column, click the user's access level to modify it. Select Remove. If the option is greyed out, you may not have the necessary permissions to remove that collaborator.

To remove a collaborator from a single file:

  • Locate the appropriate file

  • Click the Collaboration Icon () to the right of the file name.

  • Alternatively, you can open More Options > More Actions and select Manage Collaborators.

I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you have further questions!

Hi Ann, thank you for your response!  I am familiar with modifying permissions at the folder and file level; what I am trying to do in this case is identify all of the folders/files I am collaborating with this individual on and end those collaborations.

Is there a way to identify all of the folders/files that I am collaborating with a particular user on?  Or end all collaborations with a specific user without out going through folder-by-folder?

Thank you!

I am also trying to do this same action for a user no longer at our org, without having to go folder by folder to see if they had access. Please help!

Agree- need to remove a user and don't want to go through all my folders to try to find the places that I have shared with him. PLEASE HELP!

another vote up!

Hello, I am also looking for the same feature to search by collaborator.  I have many files and folders in box and it is difficult to find a single collaborator without opening each file.  Is there a way to search for a specific collaborator?  Thank you!

Hello! I'm trying to do the same. Did anyone find the answer to the original question?

Hello! I'm trying to do the same. Did anyone find the answer to the original question? It's crazy to have to go from folder to folder looking for a specific user, there has to be a way to go to the user and see what permissions they have. Please do we need an answer regarding this possibility???

Hi all... had the same question. Very annoying Box did not respond but I think the answer is pretty simple. Click your name/account in the top right corner and the drop down menu should have the "collaborators" option. You can find everyone there and then remove them as necessary.
