I can7’t enter the 2FA code

When accessing a new service - VLC in my case - Box requires a 2FA code be entered. I receive the code by SMS as i have requested, but i am unable to enter that code into the space provided. Nothing is available to be entered in the space provided. It is greyed out and I get a beep when I attempt to type into the code box. That means I am not able to use the service - VLC in my case. What do I do? Thanks for your help.
