I tried to upload an 84KB file into a folder. It did not work, and the alert said "Account storage limit reached."

I could upload that file into the root directory, which is great - but I could not move it into the folder I wanted.

Also, the storage amount is wrong. It says "162.0 MB of 10.0 GB used" but I know it's more than that. It's not full, but it certainly is more than 162 MB.

Hi Karim,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to assist!

Did you check if the error lies within your own or collaborated folder? See if it's owned by yourself or another user. If it's the latter, please reach out to the folder owner.

To check the folder owner:

  • Open the appropriate folder.
  • You will see a list of collaborators in the right-hand sidebar.
  • Click a collaborator's name to to view all the collaborators in this folder.
  • Find the owner.

Note that each folder storage is counted against its owner's storage allocation.

Thanks for posting!

The folder is not owned by me, but I am an editor. That should be enough, surely?

Hi Karim,

Good day!

Please get in touch with the folder owner. Looks like the user has reached his/her storage allocation.

Thanks for posting!
