Hi, a team member is leaving the company, have already transferred ownership for box folders. But what about box notes? Can others still access the box notes if the original creator has left the company?

Hi Xian XU,

Welcome to the Box Community! I'm happy to help.

You can check it the original owner is still part of the collaboration by highlighting the folder. On the right pane would show the list of collaborators. If the previous owner is not showing as collaborator then you are safe.

Best,

Thanks, but this does not tell me how to transfer ownership of box notes. The original owner is still with the company so obvious still show up as collaborator, but leaving soon, so how can we make sure that the box notes can still be accessed when the person leaves later? Cannot wait and check only when the person is gone right?

I have the same question, how do I change owner to a Box Notes.

👋 Hi @Mathias Persson, welcome to the Box Community!

Like all other file types, Box Notes ownership is based on who owns the folder the note was created in.

The only way you can transfer the Box Notes ownership is by creating a folder then move the note to the new folder.

  1. Invite the user as a collaborator
  2. Once the user has accepted your invitation, they'll be listed on the right side of the folder (collaboration list)
  3. Click on the [...] option which is available beside their username
  4. Choose Owner from the dropdown option

You can check out Transferring Folder Ownership to learn more.
