How to make a file and folder read only

I would like to make a folder and a seperate file read only so a user can only download the file or folder.  I cant find how to do that...Is there a way?

    Hi there,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

    You can create a Shared link of your folders and files in Box and this will give others "view only" access and you can even enable the download option on the link settings if you would like to allow others to download your contents.
