How To Clear Recent Files

Whenever I open a file, it automatically shows up in "recent files"

1) How do I stop files showing up in "recent files"

2) How can I clear it so no files show up in recent files. I tried clearing the cache but that didn't work.

      Welcome to the Box Community!

      There's no way to stop files you've most recently accessed from showing up in your "Recent Files", BUT you always have the option to hide this section by clicking that Upward arrow symbol on the side.

      But there is no way to "hide" recent files in the app, is there?

      Yes, there is no option to hide the "Recent" tab in Box mobile apps.

      I searched and found this old question.
      I wonder why a function for clearing the recent file list cannot be added. I had a few very compromising pictures of my medical condition in the recent file list and the only way to remove these was to actually delete these files from Box.

      This does not make any sense.

        And still there is No option to clear the recent files as on 7-Apr-2025.
