I was instructed to take a photo of an emailed QR code in order to secure a login to Box. The problem is that I don't have a cell phone. Is there a workaround by which I'd simply use a password to access Box? It had worked this way until fairly recently.

To confirm, did you receive instructions from a collaborator to set up 2FA using authenticator app before accessing a folder or a content?
If this is the case, looks like their organization requires this another layer of security before you can access the content and I'm afraid there is no workaround but to set up 2FA on your account using a smart phone.
