I have used up too much space on my mac and the computer is frozen. How can i quickly find the folders in box drive I had set to cache to my computer and undo it? I can’t find them manually. Thanks

Hi @dglasgal

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist!

Are you looking to manually mark select folders for online only? Box Drive uses status icons to show which items are available offline.

You can identify these folders by the following:

  • Windows Explorer: Folders marked for offline use display a solid green circle with a white check mark. If a folder is still in the process of downloading, it will show an orange circle (Pending icon).
  • macOS Finder: Folders marked for offline use display a green Available Offline" icon. During the download process, they display an orange "Pending" icon.

You can find the Box Drive icons and status through this helpful article

Using the Context Menu

You can verify a folder's status by right-clicking it in your file browser:

  1. Right-click on a folder in Box Drive.
  2. Look for the toggle option in the menu. If the folder is already marked for offline use, you will see an option to Free up space (which reverts it to online-only). If it is not yet marked for offline use, you will see the option Always keep on device.

Or simply  log out of Box Drive. Box Drive deletes a cached file that is available offline.

Hope it helps! Please don’t hesitate to reply if you additional questions.
