Help changing expiration date on shared links

Is there a way to change the expiration date on the shared links? I followed these steps:

  1. Located the file/ folder, clicked the Share option, then clicked Link Settings. The Shared Link Settings window opens.
  2. Under Link Expiration where Disable Shared Link is enabled, I clicked the calendar icon but it’s greyed out and I cannot change the date.

Is there something else I can do or is this something that my IT department will have to resolve?

Hi @np1999

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist!

By any chance, do you own the file? If yes, it shows it’s only available for Box Administrators.

Should your Box Admin decides to change the enterprise’s shared links default expiration, changes will apply on all shared links across the enterprise account.

To define the your shared link’s expiration:

  • Sign in to Box.com and navigate to Admin Console> Enterprise Settings> Content & Sharing.
  • Scroll down to Auto-Expiration and modify the default expiration in
    • Disable all shared links after a specified time of link creation, OR
    • ☑ Disable public shared links after a specified time of link creation.
  • Don’t forget to save the changes.

Hope it helps! If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread.
