Forgot to set up 2-step verification

I had turned on the 2-step verification setting, but forgot to download the verification app.
Therefore, I am unable to respond when asked to authenticate when signing in.
If possible, I would like to have the authentication settings reset and the authentication app, etc. re-set, is this possible?
