I have been using Box Sync for years on my Mac to sync local folders to the Cloud mostly for backup. Today I upgraded Box as requested by my company. After the upgrade I could not access Box folders so I rebooted by Mac. Now when I look in the Box folder on my Mac it is empty. I started a terminal and went to the Box directory and an ls command returns nothing. I can see the folders on box.com and they show as synced. How do I get the folders back on my Mac?  This is years of stuff; 100s of folders.  Thanks.

Thank you for asking. I was able to resolve the issue.

In case you are interested the fix leveraged my days doing Unix system work. I opened a Mac OS command window and looked at the folder/file structure of the Box folders on my Mac. I noticed that the file and folders did not have read-write privileges. After asking a few people about this situation, I decided to try issuing the Unix/Linux command (chmod) to give myself read/write access to the Box folder and all its files and sub-folders.  After I issued the chomd command everything worked fine.

Happy holidays!
