Folders/Files being duplicated (Double folders now)

I had a system crash some time back and had to have a repair and re-install my working systems from a back up (super-duper). When I restarted the new install of the system the BOX sync has duplicated all my folders, so now I have two of everything, though the BYTE count in some is not identical, which is also strange. When the back up was installed and I re-booted I had to login again with BOX and then this trouble started.

I deleted the duplicate folders and the next day they were all right back there again.

ANyone tell me what is going on and how to fix it? Best regards.

Hi there,

Welcome to the Box Community!

Some disaster recovery tools (i.e. Time Machine, Carbon, Genie Timeline) may have a "backup", "restore", or "sync" function. These functions should not be used to move Box Sync content from one device to another or when reinstalling Box Sync due to a system crash as this may cause issues such as duplications.

We recommend to use the instructions for reinstalling Box Sync on a new device as mentioned on this page: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044195033-Reinstall-Box-Sync-on-a-New-Computer

Best,

Hi France,

we faced the same problem, how can we solve it now?

Is it necessary to delete al the duplicated folders manually or is there any other faster option?

Thank you!
