I logged into my Box account today and it looks like all of my files and folders have disappeared.  Can someone please help?

Have you already checked your account's trash if the missing files/folders are there?


You can filter content by items you own, or by items you’ve deleted. To do this, directly beneath the folder label (Trash), click the Items I Own (or Items I Deleted) down arrow.  Then click the option you want.


  • The Items I deleted filter displays all items you have deleted, regardless of who created or owns the item.

  • The Items I own filter displays all deleted items you own, regardless of who deleted the item.

Tip: Filtering by Items I Own is helpful when trying to track down content that may have been deleted by a collaborator in a folder you own.


If you cannot find the missing items in the trash, is there a chance that the missing folder(s) is owned by another individual?  It is possible that you were removed as a collaborator, which might explain why the shared folders are no longer visible in your account. If this situation applies to you, I suggest contacting the owner and request to send you another invitation as a collaborator.

I checked the trash and nothing is there.  There is no collaborator on my files or folders.


Can I please get a support ticket or any other suggestion to retrieve my files?  I was last on Box in November when all of my files were still here.


I have the exact same problem. Did you get a resolution here?
