FILE FOLDER WILL NOT DELETE

I have file folders that have been removed from BOX online and have been removed from my desktop folders successfully.  However the same folders on my laptop have red dots and no matter how many times I try to remove them.. they will no delete.  Curiously i can delete the contents - but not the folders.

One solution on the forum suggested logging out of BOX and logging in as a new user.  Unfortunately the solution seems that it would delete all offline files.  It seems that solution is more drastic than should be required.  HELP APPRCIATED

    Hi there, 

    Welcome to Box Community and glad to help! 

    When you log out of your Box application and your files are not uploaded in the box website, your Box application will likely to delete your unsynced files. That's why we recommend doing so. 

    However, if there's essential files in your local Box folder that will be compromised of you logging out your Box application, please proceed and reset your Box Drive manually and here's the steps.
