Good evening

I have added a few files in one folder on Box drive to the Windows jump list. Meaning, when I right-click on the application icon in the start menu and then on the file name, the file should open. However, with Box drive the files disappear from the jump list - clicking on them calls up an error saying the files cannot be found and may have been deleted or moved. I can repeat the pinning to the jump list, but it lasts for maybe 2 weeks. This is VERY inconvenient. Is there a way to tell Box to remember the location of the files?

Thank you

Hi Thomas,

Welcome to Box Community and glad to help!

At this time, can you help me confirm these details?

  • The current version of your Box application.
  • Your Operating System.
  • Kindly attach a screenshot of your error.

We'd love to hear back from you!

Sorry I did not mention that in the first place.

Version: 2.33.130

Windows 10

My systems use the Japanese version, so error messages are also displayed in Japanese. I am not sure, this would help here.

But they said about: "Can't open this item. It might have been moved, renamed, or deleted". And since I have already removed the files in question from the jump list, it will be a little difficult recreate the error (unless I wait 2-3 weeks).

Does this help?

Have you gotten any response on this since you originally posted? I'm having the exact same issue and then some...

Good afternoon from Japan

I do not think, I got any answers. Just for the fun of it, I tried to put a link there. For the time being it IS there, but I have not yet tried to restart the computer, so I don't know if it will still be there the next time I want to use it. I am afraid, this is not helpful. Sorry.
