I'm probably representing a tiny minority of users here, and there isn't even some super compelling technical use case story, but I think it would be great to have a feature to add a setting in your own account preferences that would allow you to set a default compression format (other than .zip) for it to use when using the "Download" button on a folder.
Here are some fairly popular and common formats besides zip: .tar, .tgz .7z .rar .bz2
