External users with accounts aren't able to access/edit

We have recently encountered an issue where external partners, who have Box accounts and have successfully accessed and edited documents in the past, are now unable to open them and are getting frequent (~30 seconds) error messages that their session has expired. Does anyone know why this is happening or what I can do to troubleshoot/support the external people?

Welcome to Box Community, and we’ll assist in resolving this error. 

 

Are you receiving this session expired error from Box.com? if you do, please follow these preliminary troubleshooting steps: 

  1. Updating your browser to the latest version
  2. Clearing your browser's cache
  3. Using Box with an alternate browser, incognito or private window will do. 
  4. Use different machine or network then try again. 
  5. Restart your machine.
