Hello
I have an external Box User who has lost access to the MFA that was set up for their account and has no access to their Box Backup codes. Is there anything that can be done on Box to resolve this?

Hi Vincent,
Welcome to Box Community!
It indicates that you have already collaborated with one of our team members. Please keep an eye out and we'll stay in touch.
Thanks for posting!
Hello,
I faced the exact same problem. Unfortunately I can't see any solution here and therefore seek help.
Many thanks in advance!
Regards,
Mischeel
This happens all the time for me. I feel as though I am CONSTANTLY receiving requests from external users that have lost their MFA access. Where in the setup process are they going wrong? Are there instructions included for setting up the MFA when users create an external account to access shared files and folders? What directions should I give external users? I am thinking of creating reference documentation that my users within the company can send along with their Box invitation, because clearly the external account setup process needs to be clearer and more helpful.
This community and Box Support in general are wildly frustrating because when a Box support technician creates a ticket for someone, the request for help in the forum just sits there unanswered and is never updated with a solution.
If it helps, when I first submitted a ticket for this, Box told me that since it was an external user, for privacy reasons the user needed to submit their own ticket to Box Support to have account access restored. Below is the link they provided - external users can go here to submit a ticket/request without needing to log in!
