Hello i am getting these messages when uploading files. My admin has made me an editor but I cannot seem to upload anything to the file I have been given access to. I work for a consultant could there be restrictions on my IT side?

these are the messages i am getting

There was an issue uploading the file. Either:

  • The permissions to upload a new version were not sufficient.
  • The new version did not have the same filename as the original.

Hi @Error uploading files

Welcome to Box Community, and we will help resolve your upload error!

You can try the following troubleshooting steps to fix your upload error :

Meanwhile, inspect your filename before uploading:

If you are uploading a new version of an existing file, Box expects the replacement file to have the same filename as the original. Differences that can trigger this include:

  • extra spaces
  • different punctuation
  • changed capitalization in some workflows
  • a changed file extension
  • version labels added to the name, like _v2 or final

Hope it helps! Please let us know how it goes.
