4. You can also try manually resetting Box Drive, as this often helps resolve persistent issues.

If you continue to receive the same error, it may be caused by a proxy, firewall, or endpoint protection/security software that is not properly configured to allow Box Drive to connect. Desktop applications such as Box Drive must connect to Box's data centers to function properly.

I have tried resetting several times, upgraded firefox and it works on my other laptops. Got the latest windows version

I am using norton as firewall and virus protection but I have the same version on the other laptops

I started box drive in administrator mode, didnt help. 

I still get the error with Box Drive that I have to install a browser because it can not find one (there is no error number and the text is in dutch so I translated it). Logging into box in a browser will not remove the error from box drive and the installation will not finish

Have you also tried to temporarily disable antivirus and try login again?

If the issue still not resolved, one of a common troubleshooting steps is to disable plugins/add-ons/extensions in multiple browsers.

I tried 

-disabling antivirus, firewall, safe online did not work

-disable plugins in firefox (default browser), did not work

firewall works different for me and is managed through norton360 but if I disable things there and allow all communications on a private network (and mine is set to private) it doesnt help, completely disabling firewall also doesnt work

Allways same message that browser can not be found, though all browsers start fine when I start them manually

If you have at least one browser installed but are still seeing the “web browser not found” error in Box Drive, this could be a rogue application which has corrupted your system's browser lookup settings. Please try the steps below:

1. Press “Windows Key + R”
2. In the “Run” window that appears, type: https://www.example.com
3. Click OK

If your OS browser settings are working properly, this should open your default browser and display the “Example Domain” webpage. If nothing opens—or a non-browser app launches—it likely means your browser settings are corrupted.

If you need to fix your browser settings, you can follow these instructions, replacing Microsoft Edge with whatever browser you prefer:

Note: Many rogue applications can corrupt browser settings. If this issue keeps happening, we recommend scanning for viruses or malware, and reviewing recently installed apps or other ‘badly behaved’ apps. Norton, in particular, likes to install their own “secure” browser which can cause conflicts.

If you’ve already done that and you're still experiencing the issue—where Run -> example.com works, but not Box Drive—unfortunately, we’ve reached the limits of the support we can provide.

We’ve walked through all the available troubleshooting steps for Box Drive, and it seems that further resolution may require additional configuration on your operating system and browser beyond what we can assist with.

I used that several times to switch the defauts browser between firefox, chrome, edge and back to firefox. Sad that I'll have to switch my cloud but thanks for the support
