Duplicating files

Hi there,

It seems that the issue is a conflict between Box Sync and Box edit on your PC's.
 1)Prompt works with Box Edit. Box Edit is an add-on feature that allows you to open and edit files stored in Box. If you are working on a file with other collaborators, be sure to lock files before opening them with Box Edit. Lock will give the other user a prompt . If no lock it means the person working on it wasn't able to put a lock.  A lock icon,means it is being worked on by a collaborator. But you will still be able to edit it. This is when another version will be created on the same file with a  different version. In box edit two people working on the same file at the same time will create version conflict.
For Box Sync Lock will prevent other users from making changes to documents that you are working on until you unlock the file.
        For Box Sync - An editor access level and above  will allow a user to make changes on a file or folder.  If a new folder has been created in Box Sync folder on the local computer and has already the same folder name in Box.com (web app) then another folder will be created with an email next to the file name.

2) This happens if there is an existing item on the Box website with the same name as an item created locally in the same folder location. Box Sync will rename the newer file or folder and add the user’s email address (email@company.com) to prevent conflicts between the two items.

3) When you save your file, be sure you hit 'Save' in the native application and not 'Save As'. If you select Save As, you will be creating a new copy of your file on your machine, and your changes will not be saved back to Box. 

Simultaneous content creation or editing by two collaborators:
If you and a collaborator on Box.com both create or edit a file/folder of the same name at the same time, the first file to reach Box.com will be named “Filename.txt” the second file will be named “Filename (email@company.com).txt” in order to prevent overwriting.
