The download button on my shared link does not work.

I believe it did work until today.

Users see a message but the file does not download:

Your Download is In Progress

In the meantime, log in to Box to save files you view in your Recents and upload, share, and comment on the content you care about most.

Is there a maximum number of downloads allowed?

Hi @identifystudio

Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to help address your download issue.

You can follow these troubleshooting guide to help with your download issue:

  • Updating your browser to the latest version
  • Clearing your browser's cache
  • Using Box with an alternate browser, computer, or network. If possible, Test using both Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections. Wi-Fi is typically slower than an Ethernet connection. Increased distance from your router can further decrease your speeds. If there are walls or other obstructions between you and your router, this could cause your internet speed to decrease. In that case, try moving closer to your WiFi router.
  • Temporarily disabling any internet security/firewall programs to test whether they conflict with Box (Note: you may need clearance or assistance from your organization’s IT department/helpdesk to do this)
  • Temporarily disabling any plugins/extensions in your browser
  • Removing unwanted extensions, plug-ins, ads, pop-ups & malware:
  • To check download performance, do the steps here: Testing your Network Connection

MeanwhileWhen downloading complete folders in a browser there is a 100,000‑file limit per folder (recommended 10,000 files) and empty subfolders are omitted. Also, Box measures bandwidth for “People with the link” shared links and heavy download activity can hit bandwidth/usage limits.

Hope this helps fix your download issue!

Hi, Several people that I’ve shared the link with have told me that they can’t download it. So, updating my own settings isn’t going to help.
