Does each file in Box have a unique ID?

Can anyone tell me if each file that is stored in BOX has a unique ID?  I'm assuming it must, but can it be made visible to end users within BOX (not thru and API)?

    Hi ,

     

    i can try answering this box question. yes each file has a unique file id that you can see in the file URL when you preview it. Here's an example:

    Hi ,

    What about folders and files id uniqueness?

    Is it possible that folder/id and file/id could lead to different results (assuming that id is the same for both calls)?

     

    And how to get item type if only an id is known?
