This tray icon is messing with the display switching on my laptop, but I can't find an option to remove (NOT HIDE) the icon/app from the tray entirely. Using the tray icon options in settings toggles
specifically *only* Box to hidden or unbidden; the other apps' options for tray icons toggle between unhidden or disabled. Does anyone else have this issue?

Does anyone know how to delete the Box tray icon? (Windows 11)

Hi
Welcome to Box Community, and we’re glad to assist!
There is no option to remove or disable the Box Drive icon from your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (macOS) while the application is running. It is a core part of the app's interface used for settings, search, and sync status.
In the meantime, here are the things you can do:
- Hide the Icon: Drag the Box icon into the Windows system tray overflow menu (the small arrow) to keep it out of immediate view.
- Quit Box Drive: Click the Box tray icon, click the Gear icon, and select Quit. This removes the icon entirely, but syncing will stop and your Box files will be temporarily inaccessible until you relaunch the app.
