Hello,

I have a folder with a bunch of collaborators in a Previewer role. I would like to ensure that I can add files to this folder, but not have emails sent out notifying these Previewers every time I add a new file. How can I do this?

Hi Nick,

Welcome to the Box Community!

Email notifications can be adjusted at Account and Folder specific levels, so should your collaborators wish to disable the notification for "uploads" on the Shared folder, they can go to the Folder settings and uncheck the "Upload" option.

If you wish to disable all types of notifications for this folder, you can enable the following option in the folder settings:

  • Disable all email notifications for all collaborators - If this option is enabled, collaborators receive no emails about activity in this folder. (Owners, Co-Owners only)

Hope this helps!

Thanks for reaching out and please let me know if you have questions!

Best,

Realizing this is several months old, I have a question about this topic. (Sorry I'm late on this.) In settings > email and notifications, next to the checkbox labeled "Disable all email notifications for all collaborators" is grayed out. I am guessing this is because I am a very light user of Box.com and currently use the free version. Am I correct? Will I need to upgrade to be able to disable notifications? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Jeff,

Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!

May I know what is our permission in this folder?

The option to "Disable all email notifications for all collaborators" can only be managed by the 'Owner or a Co-Owner' of a collaborative folder.

You can learn more about folder settings in this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043696014-Understanding-Box-Folder-Settings#emailnotifications
