Confirm easiest way to create the form to standardize folder naming

We’re facing issues with inconsistent folder names due to minor variations (e.g., spacing, capitalization, "LA" vs. "Los Angeles"), leading to confusion and duplicate entries.
I’d like to know if Box supports standardized folder naming using field prompts? Ideally:

  • Users select a state (two-digit code), an MSA name, and enter a deal name.
  • The platform assembles these inputs into a consistent folder name automatically.

If this isn't available, what’s the easiest way for us to develop a form to standardize folder naming?

👋 Hi @emerrese, welcome to the Box Community!

At present, we offer dynamic naming with outcomes, which is a feature available in Box Relay. This provides users the ability to name files/folders based on variables that may change per workflow instance.

For your reference, here are some helpful resources:

Given the strategic nature of this approach, I would recommend that your admin reach out to your designated Account Executive or Customer Success Manager for further discussion.

If this feature doesn’t meet your needs based on your process, we would greatly appreciate it if you could submit this idea as a feature request via Box Pulse. Our Product Team continuously evaluates user feedback and may consider it for future updates.

Thank you, and have a wonderful day! 😊
